In the 1980s JOHN COSTELLO released two cassette albums, 1986's Cantos and Halflife, in 1989. John's busy career made it difficult to pursue music; a brief 1996 collaboration with Attrition's Martin Bowes was his only musical activity until 2004.
Since 2006 John has been recording with GEOFF PINCKNEY (Tenek) at Alien 6 studio in Sussex. Geoff and multi-instrumentalist OLLEY GILLESPIE will join John onstage at REPRODUKTION 13 for his first live appearance in 24 years. His music has appeared on several compilations and he is releasing a limited edition CD EP at the event. He and Martin Bowes have also reignited their ENGRAM project; an album and live appearances are in progress.
John's music has been hailed by artists including Tuxedomoon's Blaine L. Reininger and minimal synth legends Xeno & Oaklander, and played on radio stations and at clubs, including the infamous Wierd in Manhattan and Etro in Houston.
